Karlsson Mattias

Mattias Karlsson, born September 7, 1991, began to play table tennis 7 years old, in the club Lyckeby BTK which is situated in Karlskrona, in the south of Sweden. Mattias is an offensive player, using pimples out rubber on the forehand side and backside rubber on the backhand side.

Mattias is using Ma Lin Soft Carbon blade and XTEND PO(short pimples) for forehand and PRYDE for backhand.

Mattias is the only Swedish player that has captured 3 gold medals in the Swedish Junior Championships, winning 3 titles in a row 2007 – 2009.

During 2008 Mattias made his international break through, winning 3 World Junior Circuit tournaments, in Hungary, Venezuela and France.

Currently Mattias lives in Köping, studying and practising at the Swedish training center. In the coming season 09/10 Mattias will play in the Swedish highest league, representing the club Warta from Gothenburg.

Mattias is selected to play for Sweden in the European Youth Championships in Prague in July 2009
